ASSEMBLY

We had a wonderful time sharing out art with everyone at Assembly today.

A big thanks to our speakers who worked hard to remember their lines.

The children who confidently sung using the microphone.

We were also very proud of the children who received Principal Awards this week.

Well done to all of you!

ASSEMBLY THIS WEEK!

Don't forget Friday is our Assembly day!

Here is a little clue as to what we might be performing in assembly...

Please can you help us practise the song at home!

Thanks!!!

3D SHAPE

This week we have been learning about 3D shapes.  Here is a photo of Sofya when she completed her activity involving the attributes of 3D shapes.

Here is a catchy song all about 3D shapes.

TROPICAL WILDLIFE

Today we finished our Tropical Wildlife that we started making with Mrs Ruawai last week.

We glued eyes, legs and feathers on our creations to make them look extra cool.

We are very happy with our finished product and look forward to having them on display at the Art Expo.

MAKE IT MONDAY - PICASSO MASKS

PHOTOGRAPHY WITH KIM

We were very fortunate to have Georgia's mum, Kim, come in and work with a group of children learning how to take amazing photographs.

The children that worked with Kim got to take home a photo.
Thanks Kim!
We are always pleased to have parents come and teach.

KIWIANA

Finding new ways to frame our art is hard work.  We think this is the perfect boarder for our Kiwiana art though.  Do you agree?

DRAGONFLIES

Our Dragonflies are bright!  We love creating pieces of art when we get to use the dye.

But, as you can see, our art doesn't always go to plan.

PATTERNED FISH

Our patterned fish took a long time to make today but they turned out fantastic.  Mrs Ruawai helped us make them look amazing.  We had to draw our patterns on the fish and then go over the patterns with vivid.  Then we had to colour in the patterns with paint and when they were dry we dyed them.  Took a look!

THANK YOU TURBOS

For writing today we made some amazing thank you rugby balls for the Turbos.  Mrs Kenyon turned them into a book and it was delivered to the Arena.  They are going to love it.

PATTERNED PRINT ART

We used dye, art pencils and vivid to create these wonderful pieces of art with Mrs Ruawai.  Look at all the patterns we put on our fish.

PRINTED LANDSCAPE

Mrs Ruawai showed us how to draw prints on old meat trays.  Then we cut them out and covered them in black ink.  Look at what we were able to make.

TURBO VISIT

We were lucky enough to have Heiden (captain) and Michael from the Turbos visit us at Riverdale today.  They came to Piako Rua and read us a book.  Some of us got posters and asked them to sign our rugby balls.  It was a lot of fun.  Thanks for visiting!
