Today we started to paint rocks and egg cartons to prepare for our Market Day creations. Watch this space for the final products.

ART - THINK IT GREAT
On Thursday, we took some time to REFLECT on our learning. We had an organiser to complete for each of our pieces of art.
The organiser helped us think through the criteria that Mrs Peck set us WAY back at the start of the term. We had to identify the strengths and weaknesses of each of our pieces of art and reflect on what the audience might think of them.
Once we had evaluated each piece, we had to compare our two pieces and decide which piece we wanted to share in the Art Expo. The other piece, would be the one we share in assembly on Friday.
Our teachers were very impressed with how well we evaluated each piece and that every single one of us was able to state what piece we were exhibiting and why we chose that piece.
We are brilliant art critics now!

ASSEMBLY
We had a wonderful time sharing out art with everyone at Assembly today.
A big thanks to our speakers who worked hard to remember their lines.
The children who confidently sung using the microphone.
We were also very proud of the children who received Principal Awards this week.
Well done to all of you!

TROPICAL WILDLIFE
Today we finished our Tropical Wildlife that we started making with Mrs Ruawai last week.
We glued eyes, legs and feathers on our creations to make them look extra cool.
We are very happy with our finished product and look forward to having them on display at the Art Expo.
PHOTOGRAPHY WITH KIM
We were very fortunate to have Georgia's mum, Kim, come in and work with a group of children learning how to take amazing photographs.
The children that worked with Kim got to take home a photo.
Thanks Kim!
We are always pleased to have parents come and teach.

KIWIANA
Finding new ways to frame our art is hard work. We think this is the perfect boarder for our Kiwiana art though. Do you agree?
DRAGONFLIES
Our Dragonflies are bright! We love creating pieces of art when we get to use the dye.
But, as you can see, our art doesn't always go to plan.
